I went to look at what I had in my Twitter drafts. I must’ve been feeling pretty moody when I wrote this. It also seems that I really loved S/mileage.

So I had a nightmare as I was napping. In the dream, whenever I put up a new selfie, there were endless wota constantly asking, “Where’s Yuukarin? Where’s Yuukarin?!” I woke up just as I began screaming, “Shut up already with the “Yuukarin, Yuukarin” stuff!“

Yuukarin is a legend. Even now there are idols around their twenties who are huge Yuukarin devotees — or early S/mileage devotees, I should say. This means that they have at least some sort of an emotional attachment to that Kanon of the early days. So good for you, Fukuda!

If Yuukarin hadn’t quit and she was still a member of S/mileage (or ANGERME), I bet the deification towards her wouldn’t be at the level where it is now. I do feel bad for Maro what with fans comparing her to a member that doesn’t really exist.

I did like Yuukarin, but I don’t really like it when members quit after just a few years. I mean, just in thinking about the group and the members who were left behind.

It’s only natural that she’d feel this way. Yuukarin’s popularity really was on a whole other level. Fukuda was so skilled and so cute, but this was a person she could’ve never won against. But I was still always a Nyon fan — even during the 4-member S/mileage line-up — so it made me feel sad to see her gaining weight, or looking generally dispirited, or being made to cut her hair and stuff…
