I want to hear what all you longtime followers of H!P and Terada thought of it.

The writing is so childlike, it’s obvious it really was written by him and not some ghostwriter.

Just got it today and finished reading it in one sitting. While I already felt it listening to his songs, reading it reminded me that he really is a positive thinker. Also: what an amazing wife he has.
10: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:01:17.24 0.net
He really did give his all when producing H!P.

What a Terada-like book. Good stuff.

The inside story behind Musume’s NY performance made me cry.
15: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:07:33.18 0.net
To think Tsunku was this serious about what he was creating…
17: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:08:53.17 0.net
Originally I thought “dammit, man, at least take care of your throat if you’re a singer!” But it turns out this outcome was the result of him actually having been quite careful about it after all…
22: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:11:27.70 0.net
What with him having been their producer for 17 years, this was definitely worth a read.
23: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:13:28.85 0.net
I was a little disappointed by the lack of anything regarding H!P groups other than Musume.
24: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:13:28.88 0.net
It just reaffirmed my belief: Berryz Koubou sure had it good, being able to graduate along with Tsunku.
27: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:14:47.33 0.net
Reading the book made one thing obvious for me: Terada is a workaholic.

His doctor is the one to blame. I’m assuming he was only seeing to the one doctor in the beginning, and it was his responsibility spotting the cancer in its early stages.
30: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:17:21.08 0.net
He really made the wrong decisions regarding his treatment. It can be so difficult to find the right doctors.
34: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:22:39.92 0.net
But he received frequent endoscope checks and even got biopsies performed, and the doctors still missed the cancer. You can’t really call it anything but bad luck in his case.

I feel the same way. All this time I’d been thinking he just chose to try and ignore the symptoms. If you get an endoscopic check and a CT scan and the doctor tells you that there’s a “99% chance” there’s nothing wrong with you, anyone would feel relieved to hear that. Who in their right mind would disregard that 99% chance and choose instead to subject themselves to a scalpel inside the throat to get a biopsy done just to be sure? It’d be endless. These things just sometimes happen. It’s scary stuff.

It’s easy to blame the guy now in hindsight. Terada chose what he thought were his best options as to the treatments he had available. Also, this wasn’t specifically mentioned in the book, but radiation treatment isn’t something you can just repeatedly keep doing over and over again.
35: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:26:28.85 0.net
Also, radiation therapy isn’t cheap. He didn’t talk about it in the book, but his treatment must have set him back several million yen.

Second opinions really are important.
39: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:50:02.47 0.net
Is this book worth buying even for Musume wota?
40: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/10(木) 19:52:22.11 0.net
Yes. He even explains the origins to the lyrics of a certain song of theirs.
98: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/12(土) 10:36:55.65 0.net
Honestly, I thought the subject matter was pretty light considering the fact that he was in a life or death situation. (laughs)
99: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/12(土) 11:43:37.50 0.net
But that’s what makes it so good.
52: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/11(金) 00:53:10.56 0.net
I’m still reading it, but so far it’s been a very easy read. While there may have been some minor corrections, they definitely sound like his own words. But man, those doctors who kept telling him that everything was fine… This book makes you think about things.
60: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/11(金) 03:36:22.13 0.net
Well, I guess I need to focus on getting married and finding me someone to protect. That’s assuming there’s another woman as capable as her wife out there though… (laughs) I bet Tsunku wouldn’t be able to be as positive about the future had he not enjoyed his single life to the fullest, too.

Downsizing his company — does that mean he had to fire his staff?
71: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/11(金) 15:58:31.16 0.net
Men really are simpleminded. I’d ran an errand for the first time in ages, my wife praised me for it, and it ultimately escalated to a point where I was bringing her homemade sukiyaki.
I feel like the characters that appear in Tsunku’s lyrics are actually just Tsunku himself.
73: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/11(金) 21:41:38.37 0.net
Reading what he wrote about teaching his daughter how to sing and how she said she’d sing in his stead… Hotzmic really is Tsunku’s daughter after all.
75: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/11(金) 22:07:21.74 0.net
Read it. I guess it really would be accurate to say he was forced to step down.
94: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/12(土) 08:31:02.69 0.net
Finished reading it just now. I found it such pure and uncynical read. It didn’t strike me as very intelligent either — and I don’t mean that in any way as an insult.
95: 名無し募集中。。。 2015/09/12(土) 09:31:26.73 0.net
It’s pretty incredible how he was so busy he didn’t even “know how to live” up to 2006, and yet that didn’t come across in his lyrics at all.

Terada isn’t done just yet.

I still have to read it. Somehow I’ve not gotten around to it so far, except for the first two chapters some time ago. Reading these comments, I should get back to it soon.
Also, sneaky Henkka, sneaking into the thread like that.
I’ve read everything except for the last chapter, so far it’s really interesting. It shows Tsunku as a human being, but also as the worker – and that you can’t really have one without the other lol.
From what is seen in the translation I agree that it’s an easy read. If you have a few hours to spare, give it a try.
